Primary Teacher (Grades 1–6)
Role
The Primary Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and structured lessons to students aged 5–12, supporting both academic progress and personal development. The role combines a holistic, student-centered approach with structured learning aligned to the UK Primary framework, enriched by hands-on and experiential methods.
Teachers at Tree Yard are expected to create a positive, motivating classroom environment where students develop confidence, independence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery
Plan and deliver lessons aligned with the UK Primary curriculum, ensuring a balance between academic development and interactive, hands-on learning.
Classroom Management
Create a structured, respectful, and engaging classroom environment. Support positive behaviour, collaboration, and student participation.
Assessment & Progress Tracking
Monitor student progress through regular assessment. Adapt teaching strategies to meet different learning needs and provide individual support where required.
Student Development
Support students in developing confidence, independence, communication skills, and critical thinking.
Parent Communication
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behaviour, and classroom activities through school communication channels.
Collaboration
Work closely with other teachers, teaching assistants, and administration to ensure consistency and quality across the program.
Extracurricular Involvement
Participate in school activities, events, and programs, contributing to a well-rounded student experience.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent preferred)
Experience
Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in Primary education
Experience with UK curriculum or international schools is an advantage
Skills
Strong classroom management skills
Ability to engage students of different levels and backgrounds
Clear and confident communication skills
Ability to plan structured yet flexible lessons
Technology
Comfortable using basic technology (laptop, digital tools, classroom platforms)
